TOPEKA, KAN. – Three popular holiday events are set for December at Shawnee County Parks + Recreation venues:
Holiday Craft Show at Great Overland Station
Date: Dec. 3
Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Admission: Free
Previously held at Crestview Community Center, the Holiday Craft Show features homemade goods from jewelry to quilts, candles, holiday décor, baked goods and more. New this year, children can enjoy Exploration Station where they can create their own crafts, play and watch holiday movies with Shawnee County Parks + Recreation staff. Children’s Shopping Spree
Date: Dec. 9
Time: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Ages: 5-16
Admission: Free
A popular event for more than three decades, the Children’s Shopping Spree features gifts all priced at $10 or less. Free gift wrapping is available and volunteers will be on-hand to help children shop. Items range from jewelry to holiday décor, holiday goodies and more.
Old Prairie Town Christmas
Date: Dec. 16
Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Age: Family Friendly
Admission: $5 per person, at the gate
There is fun around every corner at Old Prairie Town as children can write a letter to Santa, listen to Christmas stories in the Victor Schoolhouse, enjoy music and dance performances, play in the artificial snow generated by snowmen and more. The Potwin Drug Store and Mulvane General store will be open as well.
