ROAD CONSTRUCTION: 45th Street is closed on the south side of Lake Shawnee. Others traveling from that direction have used 54th Street instead; or use 29th Street.

General Information

Lake Shawnee Campground has 123 campsites. Sites 55 + 56 are handicap accessible and campers must have a handicap license plate to reserve. To view a layout of the Lake Shawnee Campground, see our Campground Site Map.

Electricity is on to sites year-round. Sites 3 – 95 have 50-amp service available. Sites 96 – 141 have 30-amp service available.

Water is turned on to sites April 15 – October 17. The water filling station is across the street and available during your reservation in the off-season.

Tent only camping is permitted on sites 117-119. Tent camping is also permitted on sites 132-141.Two tents per campsite with no RV.

Quiet hours, 10pm – 7am year-round

There is a North Bath House and a South Bath House at the campground. Each bath house includes showers, bathrooms, and a laundry area. The North Bath House is closed during the off-season.

A natural lake cove (beach) at the campground is open between sunrise and sunset and only to registered campers. Persons choosing to use the swimming area, surrounding dock and sidewalk do so at their own risk. No lifeguard is on staff at campground. All children 10 years of age or younger using the swimming area must be supervised by a parent, guardian or responsible companion 18 years of age or older.

There is a playground located near the north bath house. 

Items sold at the main office: Ice cream bars, bagged ice ($3/bag), electrical adapters(50amp male to 30amp female, $20), firewood ($5/6 pieces) and worms ($5/dozen). There is a Coca-Cola machine located near the office.

2021  Off Season Camping Rates, $20/night

A senior citizen discount is offered at $2 off per day for ages 62 and older. Identification with date of birth must be provided to receive discount.

One vehicle is included with your reservation. To park an extra vehicle at your campsite, there is a fee of $5 per day. 

A tent erected with an R.V. in the same site will be charged an additional fee of $6 per day.

Parking spaces for boats or trailers is $3 per day inside the campground. Spaces are located at the north end of the campground by the bathhouse. Campground management reserves the right to refuse if there are safety concerns. Availability not guaranteed.

There is a dump station and a water fill up station located across the street from the campground entrance. There is no fee for campers with a current reservation at the campground. For those without a current reservation, there is a $8 fee to use the dump station and a $8 fee to use the water fill up station.

No refunds will be issued for unused reservations.

On Season Camping Information (April 15 – October 17)

Campground office is staffed daily. All visitors and campers entering the campground must check in at the entrance booth and display a current camper or visitor tag. Payment is required at the time of reservation.

Off Season Camping Information (October 18 – April 14)

Only sites 35-56 are open during this time due to Winter Wonderland. Payment is required at the time of reservation. The north bathhouse is closed during this time.
