Summer Camp registration opens at midnight March 1
TOPEKA, KAN. – Registration for Shawnee County Parks + Recreation Summer Camps opens at midnight March 1. Registration forms can be found at https://parks.snco.us/8/Day-Camps for SCP+R’s six camps. Again, forms go live at midnight March 1. Camps fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended.
Camps include:
- Back to Nature – Big Gage Shelter
- Passport to Adventure – Crestview Shelter
- Camp Connections North – Shawnee North Community Park
- Camp Connections Lake – Lake Shawnee Recreation Building
- Fun Zone – Oakland Community Center
- Civitan Camp – Civitan Building in Gage Park
Camps are open to youths age 6 to 12 and are licensed by KDHE. Camps provide a
well-supervised and safe environment. Campers learn new skills, develop friendships, explore nature, go on field trips, swim and engage in other fun activities. Camps run May 31-Aug. 5 and are open 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. except for Civitan Camp. Civitan Camp, for campers with disabilities, runs June 6-July 29 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with pre-care starting at 8:30 a.m. and post care until 5 p.m.

Shawnee County Parks + Recreation includes nearly 60 miles of trails, 2,696 acres of parks and 320 annual days of sporting activities.
