Create a City-Wide contest to Beautify Topeka. The contest would encourage citizens to do something to beautify (improve) their neighborhood for a chance to win some kind of recognition (full page article, interview with Ralph Hipp, key to the City......something). I look around this city and I see so many neglected areas that with just a little TLC would turn an eye sore into something worth looking at and admiring. I believe with good promotion in the paper and on the news the contest could help move Topeka up on the list of beautiful places to live. Let's help make Topeka GREATER.

-Metro Bicycle Stand

I live near Auburndale Park and would like to help get it some attention and improvement. Some areas of improvement I think it would benefit from are:
-Parking Area
-Metro Bicycle Stand
-Repair/repaint ball field and cricket field
-Soccer field lines
-Repair/complete sidewalks leading to park
-Beautify drain area in middle of road
-Enlarge road a bit to allow better traffic flow (especially around corner)

I've got a sloping verge that starts at the edge of the sidewalk and slopes pretty steeply to the road. There is no curb on the side of the road and the runoff and erosion is pretty bad. Any ideas on...

I've got a sloping verge that starts at the edge of the sidewalk and slopes pretty steeply to the road. There is no curb on the side of the road and the runoff and erosion is pretty bad. Any ideas on how to "curb" (haha) this problem?

It would be nice if there was somewhere in the community that parents and children could go that promote physical activity and healthy living. The location can change weekly. Volunteers are welcome to assist. Different fitness organizations are welcome to promote and recruit membership to make Topeka healthy. Local stores would be welcome to demonstrate healthy cooking ideas and recipes to promote their businesses.
