1. Sloping verge/curb strip. Any ideas of how to prevent erosion?

   I've got a sloping verge that starts at the edge of the sidewalk and slopes pretty steeply to the road. There is no curb on the side of the road and the runoff and erosion is pretty bad. Any ideas on how to "curb" (haha) this problem?
