Aquatic Job Opportunities

Shawnee County Parks & Recreation employs more than 200 lifeguards and seasonal managers along with aquatic cashiers to operate our 8 aquatic centers and pools each summer.

How to apply?

  • Those interested in summer employment should complete and submit the respected job application under Parks & Recreation located at https://jobs.sncoapps.us/
    • Intermittent Lifeguard
    • Intermittent Aquatic Cashier
  • Typical hiring season ranges from February 1st to early/mid May


Lifeguarding Requirements:

  • Must be 15 years of age or older
  • Must pass swim test
  • Must obtain American Red Cross Lifeguarding & First Aid Certification
    • This certification is provided for free by Shawnee County Parks & Recreation to Shawnee County lifeguards
  • Uniform including suit, whistle, and rescue pack are provided


Aquatic Cashier Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must be able to handle and count money
